PoPIA Policy

The PoPIA policy of Upharm sets a baseline for the organization's internal protection of personal data. It supports the fundamental ideas pertaining to people's right to privacy and appropriate protections for their personal data. 

 

Our policy

Upharm complies with section 14 of the Constitution, the goal and guidelines of PoPIA, and the common law of South Africa. It also protects Upharm from the repercussions of a duty breach by guaranteeing legal compliance with regard to the data it maintains on behalf of customers and staff. 

 

The data that we gather 

Your personal information is primarily gathered and processed so that we can get in touch with you and tell you about our retail offers and services. We will gather contact information for this purpose, such as your name, last name, phone number, email address, and any other data pertaining to in-person and online transactions. 

We obtain data directly from you when you give us your personal information. We will let you know, if at all feasible, which information is optional and which information you must give to us. 

 

How we utilize the data you provide 

Your personal information will only be used for the purposes that were discussed and agreed upon when it was acquired. This covers, but goes beyond, customizing your purchasing experience and providing tailored promos. Furthermore, your information might be kept on file for future legal or research needs if needed.

Modification of your data 

You have the right to request that we amend, remove, or update your personal data. Before making any changes to any personal information we may have about you, we will need a copy of your ID card to verify your identity. We kindly ask that you maintain the accuracy of your personal data. 

 

What constitutes personal information 

"Personal information" is defined by the Act as information about a living, breathing natural person and, when appropriate, an identifiable, existent juristic person. In addition, Upharm incorporates all addresses, including home, postal, and email addresses, in accordance with the POPI Act.
